July 2008 - SBTL takes delivery of 2 brand new straight frame trailers and 1 sloping double decked manufactured by Lawrence David. June 2008 - Shears launches a new "Platinum" service. for more details check out the relevant page on our web site. June 2008 - Shears joins the Hazchem Network, which enables us to distribute ADR palletised freight throughout the UK. March 2008 - Ian Gall joins the company as our General Haulage Manager and will be looking after our dedicated delivery fleet. November 2007 - Shears Bros Transport gain yet another award at the Pall-ex Annual Dinner dance. This time we have been awarded 3rd place in the "Depot of the Year 2008" category, of which we are very proud. This award is a tribute to all of our staff who through their commitment consistantly achieve the high standards which we set for ourselves. October 2007 - Six new vehicles have been added to the SBTL fleet. All are Mercedes and include another two 6x2 Actros 2546 tractor units, two Atego 1018 curtainsiders equipped with tail lifts and 2 two Atego 815's which are in City-link livery. July 2007 - Shears Bros Transport is flying high after taking delivery of its first two Mercedes tractor units. The 6X2 Actros 2546 have the range topping MegaSpace cab. Blue TecEuro 4 SCR engine and Mercedes PowerShift automated transmission They have also taken delivery of 3 new Taught Liners trailers in their new livery. June 2007 - SBTL launches a new livery for its fleet which was designed by Becky Shears, daughter of one of the directors Peter Shears. Green, the traditional Shears colour has been retained and the livery has been updated. May 2007- Dave Cole joins Shears Bros (Transport) as transport manager. Dave joins the Shears management team bringing with him a wealth of experience in the transport industry in the areas of contract, warehousing and distribution. May 2007 - There is a case study about Shears Bros (Transport) on the haulage exchange web site. Look up www.haulageexchange.co.uk November 2006 - Shears receives award. Pall-Ex celebrated its 10th anniversary at Celtic Manor Hotel in South Wales. At the awards ceremony Shears Bros (Transport) came runners up in the "Outstanding Contribution to the Network" category. This award is voted by the membership and we feel very honoured to recieve this accoldade.
